My blog la...

This is where my word speaks...

All of us had at least one or more hobbies. Let it be sleeping, cam whore-ing, photography, stamps collection or anything that you could imagine could be a hobby to yourself.

For me, I had so much hobbies (uncountable, maybe). One of them was collecting toys. I started seriously collecting them at early 2007. In my early childhood, my parents rarely bought me toys as they thought it were waste of money for me. Till today, it still applies to me too. Many people even the special one's told me that collecting toys is a form of wasting money. Yes, I agree with that too last time, before I get addicted collecting toys.

(Small part of my collections)
Just now, took out some of my collections for photo snapping. My mom almost faint saw so many boxes of toys. If my dad saw those just now, maybe I will get continuous nagging for tonight :P

I still remember, I met up with this guy, to get the Guy Fawkes (V for Vendetta) mask from him. I chatted with him, asking him what is the toy that he holding. He told me, it was a model of Optimus Prime from Transformers series. I was stunned, as he was around 20's and yet still playing with toys. I was laughing in my heart that moment.

Above pictures were quoted from a Chinese forum. My collection can't compare with this guy's collection. (hopefully it was mine, mine precious) HAHAHAH

Today, I was considered very very very fortunate, able to own such toys. I could never imagine my collections could grow and growing. At first I just bought one model for display on my table. Soon, I get addicted by collecting it. Range from tiny weeny model to big size. Most of my collection is consist of Transformers and Gundam, maybe because I liked robot models. For me, collecting them is like collecting a bunch of memories. It might sounds stupid, but this is it.

During my childhood, I had a dream of collecting toys and hopping that I could open a mini museum for my next generations. The dream were faded as I was getting older but what the heck, the dream came back again.

Who knows maybe someday, somewhere, somehow my dream could be realized.

It was Tuesday afternoon, was on the way for my class. Suddenly got a call from my course mate (Cheese). He told me to register myself for free U mobile starter pack before enter my institute. It is 1st November 2008 in the morning I can't get enough sleep as the weather was really hot these few days. Woke up at 5am to prepare myself for the whole day of the event.

Armed with my loyal decent compact camera and out from my sweet home around 5.30am and feed my car with new decreased fuel that was been announced 31st October by local government. Drove all the way to Berjaya Times Square (KL) with my buddy. The main entrance were flooded with crowds of photographers regardless ages or gender. We had registered ourself and get the starter pack for the event.
We are required to complete 3 themes that are given at each pit stop station. The 1st station is at Berjaya Times Square (KL), 2nd at Canon Concept Store @ Pavilion KL, and 3rd at Canon Concept Store @ Suria KLCC.

The 1st theme is Indulge Metropolitan, 2nd theme is Mess in Rules while the last theme is Goes Green. Well, the theme were given at each pit stops so we had to get the themes in certain time frame.

Creative and good imaginary is a must to snap uniqueness pictures but to snap one that it is called best picture is beyond someone's imagination. So I get into the road snap and snap whatever that I could see, could tell the story beyond the picture.

We proceed to the next pit stop at Pavilion KL at around 11am and head to Suria KLCC at 1pm. The weather is hot. Sweat all over the spot, thirst and hunger to snap something that is extraordinary.

We rush back to Berjaya Times Square by 3pm in order to upload our best pictures for each theme. It was fun to see all people in reds around the city. Even some foreigners were confused and asked us what happen, why all the people wear reds and snapping around the city.

I had my lunch + dinner at Berjaya Times Square at 5pm and waited for the results for 3 more hours. It was most tiring day of the year. But yet it was fun to get to the road and snap pictures. Even though my photos did not get listed, but next year will try again if they organize the event again.

Anyway, here is some shots that I took during in KL city.
